His father, George Pickering II, refused to accept it. Desperate, he entered the hospital with a gun to prevent them from disconnecting his son and stayed by his side for hours, facing the police.
In the midst of the tense moment, George III squeezed his father’s hand several times when asked to, proving that he was conscious.
The disconnection was stopped. Today, George Pickering III is still alive and recovered. His father spent months in jail, but both say it was worth it. “I’m alive because of that”, said the son.
