Andy Boye was 72 and had spent two years grieving the loss of his wife, who died of breast cancer. Lori Kruczek, 74, had been without her husband for more than a decade. Neither of them was looking for anything: they simply wanted to use the travel points they had accumulated with their partners on separate tours, each in their own way.
They crossed paths on a Collette Tours group trip through France in April 2024. The spark did not happen at the hotel or on the tour bus, but when a fire near the restaurant in Versailles forced them to look for somewhere else to have dinner, and they ended up sitting across from each other. Days later, at Mont-Saint-Michel, Kruczek grew tired of waiting for the guide tablets and said to Boye: “I’m leaving. Do you want to come with me?” They got lost together on the island and never let go of each other.
They sent each other songs every morning, each one more romantic than the last. They got engaged on a cliff in Ravello, Italy, and married in April 2026. “We want this to be our happy moment in life”, Boye says. The one they would have wanted to share with their previous partners, and that they now give each other.
