Subhash Kumar Rawat and his wife were returning from visiting the Khatu Shyam temple. It was around 1 a.m. when the headlights of their scooter illuminated something that shouldn’t have been there: a pair of legs dangling from the kitchen extractor.
The owner of those legs was 25-year-old Pawan Vaishnav, who had tried to sneak in to steal through the ventilation opening in the Pratap Nagar neighborhood of Kota, India. He got stuck with his head and torso inside and the rest of his body outside, unable to move forward or backward. When his accomplice saw the commotion, he simply ran away and left him there.
The police and neighbors took almost an hour to free him from the extractor. Once free, he did not get very far: he was arrested that same night and brought before a court the following day, while the authorities continue searching for the person who abandoned him to his fate.
