Gael is barely one year and four months old, and has an illness that demands a race against time.

In Alem, Argentina, his parents organized a charity padel tournament to raise the 80 million pesos they need to take him to India, where he is expected on October 5 for treatment for his cerebral palsy. Neighbors, friends, and strangers joined the cause with the sole intention of giving a baby who still cannot sit up on his own a chance.

While the tournament was taking place, someone entered the family’s home and took the money that had been collected. The Misiones Police have already carried out an investigation at the scene, and Regional Unit VI is investigating the incident, while the community of Alem remains stunned: they stole exactly what had been raised to save a child. Who could do this to a family that was only asking for help?
