There are people who have a favorite color… and then there’s her, who basically decided to live inside green. At 84, this woman became famous in Brooklyn because she has spent more than two decades using the same color in everything: clothes, hair, shoes, accessories, her home decor, and even her plants.
Her name is Elizabeth Sweetheart, although many know her as the “Green Lady of Brooklyn”. She was born in Canada, arrived in New York in 1964, and worked as a textile designer, creating prints for brands like Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, and Liz Claiborne.

Over time, green stopped being just a preference and became her personal trademark. She has lime-colored hair, more than 30 pairs of green shoes, and an apartment that seems made for someone who decided never to live in grayscale again.

And the best part is that she wears it with complete naturalness. It doesn’t seem like a strategy to attract attention or a persona created for the internet, but rather a lady who found something that makes her happy and said “alright, this is my place”.

Elizabeth says that green makes people happy, especially children. And honestly… seeing her walk through Brooklyn as if she were a garden with a handbag, she’s kind of right. I mean, quite a lot 💚
