His wife had just given birth and, 24 hours later, looked as if she had barely been through it. He, on the other hand, looked at himself and found the perfect opportunity to joke: according to him, he looked more “pregnant” than she did.
“My wife looked so absurdly thin 24 hours after giving birth that I joked that I looked like the one who had just given birth”, the dad wrote when sharing the photo. And of course, once that idea was there, there was no turning back.
So they decided to change up the typical baby announcement photo. Instead of the mom posing in the hospital bed with the newborn baby girl, he lay down, put on the surgical cap, and held the baby as if he had been the star of the delivery.
The image went viral because it completely broke with the classic perfect family photo. There was no solemnity or carefully planned pose here: there was a couple laughing at themselves right in the middle of the postpartum period.
And honestly, good for them. Because if the dad already felt like he looked like the pregnant one, at least he took advantage of the moment to leave it documented properly 😂
