Imagine you’re out fishing and your catch gives you a smile worthy of a toothpaste commercial.

It’s the Sargo Chopa, an inhabitant of the Atlantic coasts that has broken the internet because of its unsettling resemblance to humans. This fish not only has fleshy lips, but it also has three rows of molars in its upper jaw and two in the lower one. It has a full set of teeth to crush oysters and crabs like it’s nothing.

The reality is that, although it looks like a monster, it is a culinary treasure. In the United States and the Gulf of Mexico, its white, firm flesh is highly prized.
