Lore Corona only wanted to leave Dolly Parton some flowers.
When she arrived at 6712 Hollywood Blvd, the fan saw something she didn’t expect: a woman was kicking the candles that other admirers had left on the singer’s star, who died on August 25 at the age of 80 in Nashville. With fragments from one of those candles, the woman scratched the name engraved in the cement. Minutes later, a man took the flowers from the tribute.
The Hollywood Historic Trust confirmed the scratches on the plaque that Parton received in 1984. The repair had already been scheduled due to previous cracks, but the vandalism moved up the plans: the new star will be ready by Friday, in the same place where families had stopped for years to take photos with the name of the country queen.
