Tonya Meisenbach has shared the changes in her face on social media after years of surgeries, skin grafts, and treatments following severe burns in 2018.
The accident happened while she was preparing a barbecue grill with her husband in Atlanta. An ignitable liquid reached her arm, neck, hair, and face, causing deep burns over nearly 35% of her upper body.
Since then, she has gone through a long process of reconstruction and recovery, with multiple procedures to treat the scars and improve the mobility and appearance of the affected skin.
Over the years, Tonya has continued to publicly share the changes in her face and her recovery process. Today, she uses social media to talk about visible scars, makeup, and self-esteem, as well as to support others who have had similar experiences.
