Jennifer Lopez didn’t go to the 2000 Grammys to go unnoticed. She arrived in that green Versace dress, plunging beyond belief, and left the whole world trying to find more photos online like people searching for proof that they really saw what they saw.
They called it the Jungle Dress, and the look was too much. Sheer fabric, a jungle print, a neckline that became historic, and JLo walking as if she knew perfectly well she had just left her mark on the red carpet. It wasn’t just a pretty dress: it was THE DRESS.

The problem was that Google still worked mainly with text results, so people typed “JLo dress” and were left almost in the dark. Everyone wanted to see the image, replay it, zoom in on it, talk about it… but the internet still wasn’t ready for that level of collective obsession.
Years later, Eric Schmidt, former Google CEO, said that craze was one of the reasons that inspired Google Images. In other words, people searched for that dress so much that it ended up pushing forward a tool we use today almost without thinking.

Jennifer didn’t just look regal. She stepped out in a dress so iconic that even the internet had to update itself to keep up with her.
