A little dog wouldn’t let anyone get near a small kitten.
They were found snuggled between two portable toilets at Hampton Soccer Park in Virginia. Angela Ward spotted them first, asked for help on social media, and several rescuers arrived, but the 2-year-old Chihuahua growled whenever anyone got too close to the tuxedo-coated kitten. They had to wait patiently until he trusted them.
At the shelter, where dogs and cats are usually separated, the staff noticed something unusual: the little dog only relaxed when he was next to the kitten. So they decided to name the little dog Gomez and the kitten Morticia. They organized playdates so they wouldn’t break that bond and placed them in a foster home while they waited their turn. That day finally came, and today they have a home of their own—the same one for both of them, because no one had the heart to separate them.
