It all started when he discovered that a drone could also restore a family’s peace of mind.
Michael Parziale, known as “Drone Ranger”, was already a certified pilot when he used one of his drones to help locate a missing person. After that experience, people began asking him for help searching for pets, and he ended up turning that skill into a mission.
Through his organization, Unmanned Search and Rescue, he mainly goes out at night with drones equipped with thermal cameras, capable of detecting body heat among trees, brush, and areas that are difficult to search on foot.
In just two years, he has already reunited more than 120 animals with their families, including dogs, cats, and even a cow. One of them was Shade, a puppy that had been missing for 27 hours and that he managed to locate in just 41 minutes.
The most special thing is that Michael does not charge for the searches. The project is sustained by donations so that no family has to give up access to this technology because they cannot afford it.
For him, every flight ends up being worthwhile when there is a family on the other end waiting to hug their pet again.
