In 1995, McArthur Wheeler robbed two banks in Pittsburgh without a mask and looking directly at the cameras. His brilliant idea was to cover his face with lemon juice because he believed it would make him invisible.

The man knew that lemon worked as invisible ink and thought it would also fool the cameras. He even did a test with a Polaroid and, since the photo came out badly, he became convinced that the plan worked.

Hours later, the police showed the video on television and he was recognized immediately. When arrested, Wheeler only said: “But I used the juice!”. He ended up being sentenced to 24 years in prison and went down in history for the most absurd robbery ever recorded.
