What began as an absurd question on the internet ended up becoming a real experiment. And most surprising of all, physics had an explanation for such madness. 😂
In 2019, a physics student named Parker Ormonde calculated that each slap transfers energy to the chicken and that some of it is converted into heat. According to his calculations, under ideal conditions, 23.034 slaps would be enough to cook it. Another alternative would be to slap it once at nearly 6.000 kilometers per hour, something obviously impossible for a human being.
But the American YouTuber Louis Weisz wanted to put the theory into practice and built a machine capable of repeatedly slapping a chicken. After several failed attempts, he managed to get it working, although he had to solve an important problem: the meat lost heat between slaps.
The result? It took approximately 135.000 slaps and eight hours to do it. His experiment showed that the idea could work, although he probably would have spent less time, effort, and electricity using a conventional oven.
