The content creator and influencer @naasir.void traveled from the United States to Istanbul, Turkey, to undergo a 4,200-graft hair transplant and decided to proudly share the entire process. However, he never imagined what his face would look like just a few days later.

Once the hair transplant was over, the influencer felt no pain or discomfort, but on the second day something changed: his head began to swell so much that he no longer recognized himself in the mirror. And it wasn’t just any swelling—it was the kind that makes you question human anatomy.

He became so worried that he ended up searching online to see if a head could literally explode from the swelling 😭😭. He shared it on Instagram with the title “JUMPSCARE”, because that’s how it felt: as if his own reflection had made him jump in fright in the middle of recovery.

Anyone who has undergone cosmetic surgery knows that exact moment when the healing process looks worse than one imagined. But why can the face swell so much if the transplant is performed on the head?
During these procedures, fluids and local anesthetic are injected into the scalp to facilitate work with the follicles. Added to that is the inflammation caused by the procedure, and over the following days, some of that fluid can shift by gravity from the forehead toward the eyelids and other areas of the face.

That’s why the edema may not appear until one or two days after surgery and, although the appearance can be alarming, it is normally temporary and subsides over the following days.

@naasir.void thus showed the B-side of a hair transplant and a part of the process that many would probably want to know about before deciding to undergo this procedure. That said, all the fright was worth it: months later, the influencer proudly showed off the excellent result of his new hair.
