Blaze Fuller, James Ryerson, and Samuel Carlisle are 19 years old, and one August morning they got themselves into serious trouble.
Between 1 and 3 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026, in the rural area of Edgemoor, Chester County, South Carolina, they cut down the pole holding a Flock license plate reader camera on Harmony Church Road. They did not stop there: they hit it with a hammer until the battery exploded and the equipment ended up engulfed in flames.
David Cunupp, a local resident, saw the fire from his property, and only the rain that night kept it from spreading to his house. He also questioned why a private company, rather than the government or the DMV, is the one installing these cameras in his community.
The three were charged with criminal conspiracy and destruction of property, with damages estimated at more than 5.000 dollars. They have already posted bail, while the case joins a growing wave of attacks on Flock cameras in various states across the United States, motivated by concerns about privacy and mass surveillance.
