The reason isn’t the violence or the car races. It’s Lucia, the game’s protagonist, whom players have to text every day, invite on dates, and avoid making angry if they don’t want to ruin the virtual relationship.
Her fiancé, Alex Eubank, did not put up a fight and publicly agreed to go without playing to avoid trouble.
Meanwhile, Rockstar clarified that the relationship system with Lucia is completely optional, but it was already too late: Shelby’s video blew up on TikTok and sparked a debate among thousands of people over whether jealousy toward a video game character is perfectly reasonable or proof that the internet has lost its mind. 😂
