But now, at 79, the British actor has revealed a confession no one expected in his memoir titled ‘Vagabond’: he never enjoyed the role, because in real life he hated clowns.
Curry clarified that it was not an extreme phobia—he denied the rumors that he could not even look at himself in the mirror with the makeup on—but simply an experience he never came to fully enjoy. He accepted the role with uncertainty and, as he himself recounted, things did not turn out “in the Stoppard style”.
