During the filming of ‘Home Alone 2: Lost in New York,’ the actor stayed with the rest of the cast at New York’s Plaza Hotel, which was owned by Donald Trump at the time. There he played the hotel’s concierge, and there he also met Ivana Trump, who was the hotel’s president at the time.
According to Curry in an interview with The Guardian, Ivana asked him if he liked the decor of his room. He told her he did. The truth was different: he absolutely hated it. The actor also recalled how eager Donald Trump was to introduce his then-girlfriend, Marla Maples, to director Chris Columbus, assuring him that she was a ‘brilliant actress.’ 😅
Curry shared these memories while promoting his memoir, written after he suffered a stroke in 2012 that left him partially paralyzed. Ivana Trump died in 2022, at the age of 73.
