If you thought Timon and Pumbaa only existed in a movie, take a good look at this video. 🥹💛
In a nature reserve in Namibia lives Jerry, a meerkat who doesn’t walk when he can ride on his best friend’s back: Betsie, a huge warthog who seems not to notice the extra weight. He climbs onto her back, and she carries on as if carrying a friend were the most normal thing in the world.
Behind the image is an even lovelier story: both are orphaned animals who can’t return to the wild and now live in the care of Ruben Lambrechts, the man who filmed them. The video has more than 170 million views. Even so, he warns that they aren’t pets and shouldn’t be domesticated.
Sometimes real life makes the best script. Hakuna Matata! Who else would love to have a friendship this fun?
