In 2016, the singer’s kidney function had fallen to around 20% after years of poorly controlled hypertension. Faced with the possibility of depending on dialysis, Tina even considered assisted dying.
Bach then made a decision she would never forget: in 2017, he donated one of his kidneys to her. “I was overwhelmed by the enormity of his offer”, she later wrote.
Tina lived for another six years and died in 2023, at the age of 83, in Switzerland. The exact distribution of her inheritance was never publicly revealed.
