It had been 14 months since June 2025, when a routine mammogram changed the life of this South Carolina family.
For Betty Jo, the word cured does not apply yet. She explained it herself: you don’t leave breast cancer behind, you get through it. And this family already knows what it means to get through pain. In 2020, they lost Lawrence Meadows, Craig’s brother, to colon cancer at 43, and before that, a granddaughter to childhood cancer. That is why Craig became a public advocate for early detection.
When the good news finally arrived, the host could only describe his mother as someone who has spent 50 years being an angel for everyone except herself.
