Tom Cruise was walking with his team when he saw a woman sitting hunched over with her head down. He thought she might be crying or going through a hard time, so he retraced his steps to make sure she was okay.
He approached, crouched down to her level, and gently touched her shoulder. At that point, the woman, named Klementina, lifted her head and froze when she recognized him: “Tom Cruise?”, she managed to say.
But she wasn’t crying. She had been completely focused on looking at posts on her phone and hadn’t even realized the actor was passing in front of her.
After exchanging a few words and bumping fists, Tom continued on his way. Klementina was so surprised that she barely reacted, but she got her chance when he passed by again later and this time she managed to ask him for a photo.
The whole scene was captured by a security camera and quickly began circulating on social media.
What ended up charming so many people was a very simple detail: nobody called Tom or asked him for help. He had already kept walking and decided to turn back on his own because he thought a stranger might need him.
