The proposal may seem provocative, but Haider Ackermann, the fashion house’s creative director, insists it’s not about shocking people. His idea is to take men’s fashion somewhere freer, more sensual, and more daring, where showing the body is no longer something men have to hide.
After years of women’s fashion playing with sheer fabrics, visible lingerie, and increasingly smaller garments, the question now seems to be a different one: are we about to see the men’s thong become a trend?
And perhaps the strangest thing is that the industry isn’t presenting it as a joke, but as a new form of masculine sensuality.
