She picked up a knife in the morning and stabbed her boyfriend to death; all she said was, “I did it because no one was going to help me”. He had been arrested 6 times for beating her

At 6:50 in the morning on September 19, 2026, in an apartment on Linden Blvd. in Brooklyn, 36-year-old Jennifer Ayala picked up a knife.

According to the criminal complaint, she told police she stabbed her boyfriend, Pedersin Pelissier, also 36, twice in the chest because he wouldn’t stop beating her. He was taken to Kings County Hospital. He died there.

No one in the building was entirely surprised. Neighbors said the couple argued often and that he had already tried to break down her door.

The figures provided by police sources are stark. Since May 2025, Pelissier had been arrested six times for domestic violence incidents in which Ayala was the victim. Four cases are sealed. The other two fell apart when she refused to pursue them.

According to those same sources, she said she had endured years of beatings and believed no one was going to help her.

Then came the twist. They say she also confessed something almost no one expects to hear: that she loved him and would always take him back.

Ayala was charged with first-degree manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon. This is her account, and the justice system has yet to prove it.

Sometimes the question isn’t why someone reacted. It’s how many times they cried out before anyone heard them.
