In the middle of one of Tokyo’s busiest neighborhoods, there are two employees who don’t wear suits or use access cards.

Their names are Nagi-kun, a 1-year-old male, and Pokke-chan, a 2-year-old female. Since October 9, they have been working on a plot of land at Yotsuya Station, next to the Akasaka exit, where their job is to eat the weeds growing there. It’s an eco-friendly way to clean up the area. Technically, JR East pays the goats’ owners to rent their services.

According to a staff member, they will stay until the end of the year. Grass grows slowly in winter, so they’ll take those months off and could return in spring if JR needs them. In the meantime, the company has one very simple request: treat them well and don’t give them snacks.
