Trump went to Madison Square Garden to watch the NBA Finals and ended up being the main character for another reason: cameras caught him with his eyes closed in his suite, and social media did not forgive him. 😅
“WAKE UP ALREADY!”, wrote Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Democratic congresswoman from New York. Yassamin Ansari, Democratic congresswoman from Arizona, also joined in the mockery: “Did he have meetings canceled to watch the game so he could go to the stadium and sleep?”.
The White House came out to put out the fire, assuring that Trump “watched every moment” of the game and that “anyone who ridiculously claims that the president was asleep is lying or suffering from severe brain damage”.
But none of that mattered, people had already passed judgment: he went to the NBA’s most expensive game… and apparently chose to watch it in premium nap mode. 😅
