The 19-year-old daughter of Donald Trump Jr. documented her first week on YouTube as a student and member of the women’s golf team at the University of Miami, and what she uploaded was not exactly inspiring to many. She filmed herself crying in the car as she said goodbye to her family in Jupiter, Florida, and days later her friend Emma arrived at the apartment with bags of food because, according to her, Kai was only drinking diet soda.
The clip was flooded with mocking comments: that she should grow up, that nobody cares, that she should ask a well-off family member for help instead of dramatizing in front of a camera. For much of the public, the mix of obvious privilege and complaints about everyday tasks was unbearable to watch — and they let her know it without holding back in every video.
