Our children’s childhoods pass in the blink of an eye. Toys are forgotten, clothes no longer fit, and their first scribbles on paper end up crumpled or lost over the years. Knowing how fleeting it is to watch a child grow up, Keith Anderson, a loving father from Ontario, Canada, decided to freeze time in the most beautiful, profound, and permanent way possible.

It all began when his little Kai was just 4 years old and drew a simple daisy. Fascinated by the innocence and beauty of that unassuming drawing, Keith went to a tattoo studio and had the flower permanently inked on his skin. What began as a spontaneous gesture quickly became a sacred ritual of fatherly love: every year, without fail, Keith chooses his son’s favorite artwork—a house, a dinosaur, a Canadian flag, or a robot—to add to his arm.

But the detail that finally melted the hearts of millions came as Kai grew a little older. From the age of 8, Keith not only kept getting his child’s drawings tattooed, but also took Kai to the studio so the little boy could take the tattoo machine under supervision and personally ink part of the design onto his dad’s arm.

Today, Keith’s arm is a colorful, dazzling time capsule—a living museum documenting the evolution of his son’s mind, creativity, and life year after year. When people ask what he’ll do when he runs out of space, Keith smiles and replies that he’ll simply use smaller drawings or start on his other arm, because there isn’t a single spot on his body he wouldn’t dedicate to his great love.

Many parents keep their children’s memories in a drawer or stick them on the refrigerator, but this father decided to carry his little one’s soul, sewn into his skin, for all eternity.

A pure and unconditional demonstration that there is no greater source of pride for a father than showing off the marks his children leave on his life. 🥹✨
