Indian photographer Bandeep Singh captured one of the most moving scenes involving two elephants. As they were being transported along a road in India, the animals found themselves separated by the vehicles carrying them and intertwined their trunks across them.
The photograph shows the two elephants approaching each other for a few moments, in a gesture that was interpreted as a farewell between two animals who were about to be separated.
According to the story shared alongside the image, the elephants had lived together for years, but they were moved to different places because there was no enclosure with enough space to keep them both.
Singh captured the scene, which went on to become a memorable image for the particular way these two elephants seemed to say goodbye before going their separate ways. 🐘
