For Maylee, Finlee has never been “the different sister”: she is simply the person with whom she has shared her life for as long as she can remember.
Photographs of the two of them several years apart show how much they have changed since they were little, but also something that remains practically unchanged: the closeness between them.
Finlee was born with a genetic condition that affected the development of her face, and she has had to go through experiences different from those of other children. Her family has shared part of her story to talk about facial differences, inclusion, and the importance of teaching young children to look beyond appearance.
And as Finlee has followed her own path, Maylee has been there as a sister, playmate, and one of the people closest to her.
