A two-year-old girl bit the snake that attacked her.
The girl, whose initials are S.E., was playing in the garden of her home in Kantar, near Bingöl, Turkey, when the animal, which was about 50 centimeters long, bit her lip. Her mother said that neighbors told her the little girl was with the snake and reacted by biting it.
Her father’s account adds that they took her to Bingöl Maternity and Children’s Hospital and that she was out of danger, with no symptoms of poisoning.
The incident doesn’t make that reaction a safe option: if a bite occurs, the sensible thing to do is move away from the animal and seek medical attention. In the end, the snake got the worst of it, and the girl went home a legend. It was clear that in that house, even the littlest ones have fangs.
