The former boxer said he had raised pigeons since childhood in Brownsville, New York, and that this passion stayed with him throughout his life, even after becoming heavyweight world champion.
That is why, when his then-girlfriend grabbed one of his birds, boiled it, and ate it in front of him, Tyson could not even touch the plate.
“She did not understand why I raised pigeons”, explained the boxer, who admitted he tolerated the scene because at the time he was living in his partner’s house and was financially dependent on her.
But the relationship did not survive the lunch: Tyson left her shortly afterward, convinced that it “was not right”.
