Sean Strickland did not stay silent. The 35-year-old UFC middleweight champion returned to social media to defend something he had already said before: that women should not vote.
“I’m not saying women are stupid”, he wrote on X, “they are too compassionate to govern a functional society”.
According to him, this excess of empathy prevents them from accepting that certain people should be executed or imprisoned for life, and that is why he openly called for repealing the 19th Amendment, which in 1920 granted women the right to vote in the United States.
This is not the first time. Back in 2023, before a fight in Las Vegas, he had said women should return to the kitchen and leave the workforce. The UFC never sanctioned him for his statements, and his championship title remains intact.
