William Walker was a firefighter lieutenant in Cleveland and believed he was only going to pick up food for his wife.
He didn’t know that the McDonald’s order in 2013 was the perfect excuse to arrange his own murder. When he returned home with the bag of food, he was shot several times at the entrance to his home. Investigators discovered that his wife, Uloma Curry-Walker, had orchestrated the entire plan with men hired to kill him.
The most disturbing part came later: before marrying him, she had made him believe she had stage 4 breast cancer, a lie she used to convince him to marry her and thereby gain access to his health insurance. Prosecutors also pointed out that she sought to collect a life insurance policy worth 100.000 dollars, but never saw that money because Walker’s ex-wife remained the beneficiary. Curry-Walker was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
