Carter Brown was fishing in a boat when a grizzly bear swam up until it was practically right next to his vessel. It put its head underwater and came up with a salmon between its teeth.
The video offers a privileged view of the animal eating in its own habitat, but while anyone would be terrified by this encounter, Carter remained in the boat filming the scene with complete calm.
Perhaps his reaction is better understood by knowing what a normal day at work is like for him. He is a fishing and bear-watching guide in Alaska, so he is used to sharing rivers with some of the continent’s largest predators. But even within his particular routine, there are encounters capable of leaving anyone speechless.
