Lionel Messi has added another title to his illustrious career. The University of Buenos Aires awarded him an honorary doctorate, its highest distinction, by unanimous decision of its Superior Council.
UBA highlighted his excellence, perseverance, humility, and commitment to Argentina. The recognition also encompasses his place in popular culture and national identity.
The presentation was announced for October 6, 2026, at the Monumental, before Argentina’s match against Benin.
The university tribute will also take place on the field.
