Around the 24th minute of the first half, the defender struck it so hard that the ball went over the stadium and landed right on Route 1, the road that runs alongside the pitch.
A car slammed on the brakes after seeing the ball cross the road, and the one behind it crashed straight into it. There were no injuries, but there was a 15-minute traffic jam until the police arrived.
Inside, no one noticed the chaos: the match continued as if nothing had happened and Uruguay Montevideo ended up winning 1-0. The video is already viral, and even the drivers became unwitting protagonists.
