Don Daniel did not shout. He simply cried, standing beside his cart of cream gorditas, while his hands trembled as he tried to keep working.

The video was recorded in the heart of Mexico City’s Historic Center, near José María Pino Suárez Street and the Hotel Castropol, where the vendor had been setting up for some time to earn a living. According to his own testimony and that of several customers, people linked to a neighboring business aggressively forced him to leave and claimed that they had even fired shots into the air to intimidate him and drive him away.

User Eliza Hernández uploaded the footage to TikTok in early September 2026, and the clip exploded: it was not the theft of a cart, as some headlines hastened to repeat, but the violent removal of a man who only wanted to sell his cream gorditas. Hundreds of people are already organizing search parties to look for him around Pino Suárez and the Zócalo, determined not to let those tears go unpunished or be forgotten.
