Matías Julián Álvarez Guardia just wanted to stay home.
His partner, Victoria Luz Cantero, wanted to go out dancing. That difference, so small, became the last argument of his life. At their home in Chaco, the fight escalated until Cantero took a Tramontina-style knife with a black handle and stabbed him.
Jealousy may have been the driving force behind the attack, according to judicial sources investigating the case. Matías died at the scene. Police seized the weapon as key evidence and, shortly afterward, Cantero turned herself in to authorities and confessed to killing her partner. There was no struggle with the justice system: she admitted the act and was immediately detained, while Chaco prosecutors reconstruct minute by minute the night when not going out dancing ended in tragedy.
