A small dog became a symbol of survival after going through an experience that seemed impossible.

During a tornado’s passage through the Ñuble region in Chile, the animal was dragged nearly 200 meters by the force of the wind, amid a phenomenon that caused significant damage to homes and structures in the area.

What most surprised those who learned about the story was the protagonist’s age: the dog was 16 years old, a stage when many animals already face mobility and health problems associated with old age.

The tornado struck several areas of Chillán Viejo hard, leaving fallen trees, material damage, and scenes that surprised residents. However, amid the chaos, the dog’s family managed to find it alive.

The story quickly went viral, not only because of the extreme nature of the accident, but also because of the animal’s resilience, which despite its age managed to overcome a situation that would have been fatal for many.
Experts remind us that during extreme weather events, it is essential to protect pets, keep them sheltered, and have emergency plans in place, as animals can become disoriented or be seriously affected by sudden changes in their surroundings.
