On her wedding day, it was several degrees below zero in Taiwan. No one expected to see a butterfly in the middle of winter, much less for one to land right on the bride’s shoulder.
But it happened. An orange-brown butterfly flew toward her in the middle of the ceremony, and the bride opened her mouth in surprise before the tears completely overcame her. The insect lingered near her face, as if trying to dry her tears, while she remembered her father, who had died three years earlier.
“I can’t believe something so incredible happened to me. My father came. He really did come”, she said through tears in front of all the guests. Then she spoke to him directly, as if he were there: “Dad, I know it’s you. I have so much to tell you. You kept your promise”. She told him that there was now a man in the world who loved her as much as he had.
