The accident occurred on October 17, 2026, at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, before a football game between the University of Texas at San Antonio and the Naval Academy.

Four Air Force members were scheduled to descend by rope from the roof structure, located about 52 meters above the field.

However, one of them began descending uncontrollably and ultimately hit the ground.

The fall was recorded by spectators, who reacted with screams as they witnessed the accident.

Emergency crews treated the service member on the field and took him to a hospital, where he later died.

His identity had not yet been released, while the Air Force announced an investigation to determine the cause.

The game began about ten minutes late.

What was meant to be a display of skill and a tribute to military service ended up becoming a tragedy in front of thousands of people.
