In Qingdao, China, a boy heard the word ‘extraction’ and made a drastic decision: run.
There was no negotiation or tantrum in the chair. As soon as he understood that they were going to pull out a baby tooth, he turned around and bolted out of the dental office as if his life depended on it, leaving the dentist behind with her gloves on. The staff ran after him, and his mother didn’t stay behind either.
The chase ended in the parking lot, where mother and son acted out a scene any parent would recognize instantly: her carrying him in her arms, while he kicked back toward the door that he had been so eager to cross in the opposite direction. Tooth extracted, 5-year-old dignity lost. 🦷😅
