The car came in as if the wall didn’t exist.
It was Saturday afternoon at CuVee’s Culinary Creations restaurant on Eldridge Parkway in Houston. Patrick Blackwood and Nina Santiago, known online as “Nina Unrated”, were filming a food review next to the window when an SUV crashed through the glass and knocked over the table in front of them. According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the driver said she thought she had put the vehicle in park, but the car rolled toward the business as soon as she released the brake.
The restaurant’s owner, Ivory Watkins, had moved away from that table just seconds before the impact. The two content creators suffered cuts to their faces, necks, arms, and hands, and were taken to the hospital while the manager treated them until paramedics arrived. Watkins boarded up the windows with wood that same night, but managed to reopen the following Sunday with a new rule: staff cars are now parked right in front of the tables next to the glass, as a shield.
