In the video he can be seen standing in front of the television, cap on, green jersey, with a knife raised. What follows is pure impulse: he drives the blade into the screen again and again while the image distorts into shards of glass and exposed wires. Between screams and tears he completely destroys it. Seconds later he appears facing the camera, agitated, with a nervous smile that mixes shame and adrenaline, as if he himself cannot quite believe what he has just done.
The television, of course, did not stand a chance. And what we do know is that the next time Mexico plays a match, that screen will no longer be there to watch it. 😅
