Just a few days ago, Brazil was shaken by the death of Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas, the 21-year-old woman who was thrown from a bridge without being connected to the safety rope during an extreme jumping activity. The case ended with several people detained and sparked an investigation into alleged negligence.

Now, a new viral video is setting off alarm bells again.
The footage shows a man performing a pendulum jump from the Santo Hilário Bridge, in Minas Gerais. However, something went wrong during the maneuver: he lost control of his trajectory and ended up violently crashing into one of the structure’s pillars, losing consciousness from the impact.

The recording has generated thousands of reactions on social media, where many users have recalled the recent tragedy that occurred in Limeira. For some, both cases reflect the same problem: the lack of strict protocols and oversight in certain extreme activities.
Although the accidents happened under very different circumstances, the two incidents have reopened the debate over how much depends on professional preparation and how much on luck when practicing high-risk sports.

Because after what happened to Maria Eduarda, many thought they would not see another video this shocking in such a short time.
Here is the raw moment:
