The death of Isaiah Trammell, a 19-year-old autistic young man from Lebanon, Ohio, became one of the most harrowing cases to occur at the Montgomery County jail in 2023.
It all began when a neighbor mistook an anxiety attack for a fight and called the police. Isaiah was arrested on a warrant issued by mistake and ended up locked in a cell where, according to security videos, the guards mocked him while he desperately asked for his medications, water, and help.
Without receiving care, he began violently banging himself against the wall until he suffered a fatal head injury. He died three days later in the hospital.
