A 70-year-old man entered a Carl’s Jr. in Tucson, Arizona, supported by his walker. He never got to sit down.

A 34-year-old stranger followed him inside the restaurant, ripped off the backpack he was wearing and pushed him until he fell to the floor. The elderly man injured an arm while trying to brace himself. No staff members came out to defend him: it was three customers who were there, eating, who rushed to stop the attacker, forced him to drop the backpack and watched him flee through the front door.

Tucson police used the descriptions from those witnesses to catch him minutes later, a few blocks from the scene. He was charged with attempted robbery. The video, recorded on July 9, 2026, was published by the Police Department itself to publicly thank those who did not hesitate to intervene for a man they did not even know.
