Judith María couldn’t move from her wheelchair when the ground began to shake. 🌍
It was 6 p.m. on June 24 in Venezuela, and in 39 seconds two earthquakes struck, one with a magnitude of 7,2 and another of 7,5. Félix Eduardo, her 84-year-old husband, ran to her side and held her with both hands as she cried and repeated: “I’m scared, don’t leave”.

The security camera at their home recorded everything.

The video went viral within hours, but no one knew who they were. Weeks later, Telemundo 51 found them: Félix Eduardo and Judith María, about to celebrate 58 years of marriage.

The earthquake left 235 people dead and 6,76 million affected in the country, but that embrace between two people who refused to let go remained as the image that sums up what happened that day. 🙏
